Guide / DEMO processing directions

The need comes first.
The direction follows.

Outline, geometry or joint? Organise the purpose and information before discussing production. Sample materials and parameters do not confirm a factory's capabilities.

01 / Short guide

Start with the need.

The selection shows a direction for discussion and information to prepare. It works locally using visible rules.

What would you like to describe?

Choose a need. We will show where to start the description.

The rule is explicit: flat outline → cutting; three-dimensional shape → bending; assembly → a discussion of joining. “I do not know yet” leaves the direction open. Material and documentation status change the information list; they are not a technical assessment. AI is disabled.

01 / Flat outline

Cutting

Start with the shape, material type and number of parts. This example shows how to organise information before speaking to a manufacturer.

Application
A flat part with a described outline: a panel, spacer or plate.
Input data
Outline or description; material, thickness and quantity if agreed.
To confirm
Choosing a direction alone does not confirm the manufacturing method. The manufacturer reviews documentation and part details.
What should you ask the manufacturer?

Are the outline and all important part features clearly described?

Material, documentation, scope and parameters need a separate agreement.

02 / Three-dimensional shape

Bending

Separate the finished shape from information about planned bends. The final method and feasibility require a drawing review.

Application
A component formed from flat material, such as a concept bracket.
Input data
Target geometry, planned bends, material and dimensions; unknowns recorded separately.
To confirm
The number of bends is not enough to assess the part. Geometry and documentation need a separate review.
What should you ask the manufacturer?

Are the target shape and features important for assembly described?

Material, documentation, scope and parameters need a separate agreement.

03 / Component assembly

Joining

Describe the components, expected joining method and intended use. The visualisation shows a welding example; the joining method remains to be agreed.

Application
Parts intended to form a whole, such as a concept display frame.
Input data
A description of parts, their arrangement, intended use and expected joint.
To confirm
The description specifies neither the joining method nor joint parameters. Those decisions need agreement with the manufacturer.
What should you ask the manufacturer?

Is it clear which parts will be joined and what function the assembly serves?

Material, documentation, scope and parameters need a separate agreement.

Material / information for discussion

The category is just
the start of the description.

In this DEMO, “steel” or “aluminium” is a material group. It specifies neither grade, condition, finish nor suitability for the application.

  • If you know the designation, include it in the description for consultation.
  • If you do not know the material or thickness, choose “to be agreed”.
  • Do not infer part specifications from an AI visualisation.

Three illustrative briefs show how to prepare information. They are neither client projects nor evidence of a factory's capabilities.

All briefs are illustrative. Entered numbers demonstrate the form; they do not represent an offer, tolerances, machine availability or confirmation of production.
