How do you choose a size?

Choose a similar piece you feel comfortable in. The measurement helps prepare a comparison with a real manufacturer's chart.

  1. Waistband

    Lay comfortable trousers flat and fasten them. Measure the upper edge from side to side, without stretching the elastic.

  2. Hip width

    Check the trousers' width below the waistband at their widest point. Note the height at which you measure.

  3. Inside leg length

    Run the tape from the crotch seam junction to the end of the leg. Use the same principle for shorts.

When the chart describes the body

Measure waist circumference where the waistband usually sits, and hips at their widest point. The tape should sit against the body without tightening. Check whether the real chart describes body measurements or finished trousers.

There is no real measurement chart or automatic recommendation here. The steps above help prepare measurements; they cannot confirm a fit for a fictional product.
